Michigan’s Third Raising Cane’s Opens in Ann Arbor – 20 People Will Win Free Chicken for a Year

Raising Cane’s will open its first Ann Arbor restaurant on Tuesday, September 16, at 1116 S. University Avenue, steps from the University of Michigan’s Big House.

This is the chain’s third Michigan location, with the restaurant tailored to celebrate Wolverine pride.

Festivities kick off at 7:30 a.m., including a “Lucky 20” drawing for free Cane’s for a year, special gifts for the first diner in line, and commemorative hats for the earliest 100 combo customers.

A ribbon-cutting with the Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce and live entertainment will add to the excitement.

The restaurant will serve classic chicken finger meals daily from 10 a.m., staying open as late as 3 a.m. on weekends to cater to students and night owls.

With over 140 job openings, neighbors and students are encouraged to apply for flexible roles with valuable benefits.

Ann Arbor’s grand opening reflects Raising Cane’s growing Michigan footprint and commitment to the local community.

Broadway Park West Officially Opens Along the Huron River in Ann Arbor

Broadway Park West has officially opened along the Huron River, bringing a revitalized seven-acre public park to Ann Arbor as of September 12, 2025.

This once-industrial site, transformed by the Lower Town Riverfront Conservancy, now offers scenic riverfront trails that link directly to the Border-to-Border Trail, making the area more inviting for walkers and cyclists.

At its heart is The Commons, a lush, two-acre lawn designed for community gatherings and local events.

Mayor Christopher Taylor and Marie Klopf led the opening festivities, which featured a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, guided walks, live DJ sets, and a dance party with Joe Hertler.

Families enjoyed Bubble Fest — Ann Arbor’s first bubble-themed event offering interactive activities and treats.

This new park marks the first step in a broader plan to shape the Lowertown Neighborhood with future housing, a boutique hotel, and retail spaces.
